What we do

Custom printing, end to end

Bring a finished STL or nothing but a napkin sketch — we handle whatever part of the journey you need, and hand back a finished object.

Everything we print is PLA, on Prusa Core One and MK4S machines. It's tough, it comes in eight colours, and with our MMU3 unit we can run several of them in a single print.

Custom model printing

Send us an STL that fits a 200 × 200 × 250 mm bed and we'll print it in the colour you pick. Every file gets a free printability check before we quote.

How it works

Four steps from idea to doorstep

Before you click "order", here's exactly what happens. No jargon, no surprise invoices — every quote gives you the price and the delivery date up front.

STEP 01

Send your STL

Upload a file that fits a 200 × 200 × 250 mm build, and pick your colour — or colours. No 3D file yet? Send a sketch or photo and we'll model it for you.

STEP 02

Your quote by 20:00

An order confirmation lands in your inbox straight away. We check the file is printable, flag anything that worries us, and send your quote by 20:00 the same day — with the price and the date it will be delivered by.

STEP 03

We print it

Your model goes on a Core One or MK4S. Multi-colour jobs run through the MMU3. We clean off supports and check the result against your file.

STEP 04

Delivered to your door

Packed protectively and sent straight to you, anywhere in Tamil Nadu. If a print fails our check or arrives damaged, we reprint it — that's the deal.

Material & colours

One material. Eight colours.

We print exclusively in PLA — it's strong, sharp on detail, and safe to have around the house and the classroom. Pick any colour below, or combine several in one model using our MMU3 unit.

Matte BlackPLA
Plus WhitePLA
Pro BlackPLA
Plus BluePLA
Matte BeigePLA
Dark BluePLA
Sky BluePLA
RedPLA

Want more than one colour on the same model? Our MMU3 multi-material unit switches filament mid-print, so a single part can come out striped, two-tone or fully multicoloured — no painting, no assembly. Just tell us which colours go where when you send your file.

Packages

Three ways to work with us

Pick whichever describes where you're starting from. Every job is quoted individually — a 20-gram keyring and a 400-gram helmet aren't the same work — so we price yours on size, print time and how many colours it uses.

We print your model

You have the CAD file. We have the printers.

  • Free printability check before we quote
  • Any of our eight PLA colours
  • Support removal & basic cleanup

Questions

Things people ask us

What file format should I send?
An STL is what we work from. If you only have a 2D drawing, photographs or a rough sketch, send those instead — our design team can build the 3D file for you as part of a Design + Print project.
How big can you print?
Your model needs to fit a 200 × 200 × 250 mm build volume. Anything bigger is printed in sections and joined — we design the split lines so the seams land where you won't notice them.
Why only PLA?
Because we'd rather do one material properly than six badly. PLA is strong, holds fine detail, prints in eight colours, and is safe to have around children — which matters for our courses. It's the right choice for the overwhelming majority of what people ask us for. If your part genuinely needs to survive heat or heavy load, tell us and we'll say so honestly rather than sell you something that will fail.
Can one model have several colours?
Yes. Our MMU3 multi-material unit changes filament mid-print, so a single part can come out in several of our eight colours without any painting or gluing. Just say which colours go where when you send your file.
How long will my order take?
You'll get an order confirmation by email as soon as you submit, then your quote by 20:00 the same day. Every quote states both the price and the date your print will be delivered by, so you know exactly what you're agreeing to before you commit.
What if the print doesn't come out right?
We check every piece against your file before it's packed. If a print fails our inspection, or arrives damaged, or doesn't match the approved design, we reprint it at no cost. Design faults in a file you supplied aren't covered, but our free pre-print check is specifically there to catch those first.
Do you keep my designs confidential?
Yes. Your files stay yours — we don't reuse, resell or display client models without written permission, and we'll happily sign an NDA before you send anything. Commercial and product-development work is a big part of what we do.
What happens in a children's course?
It's a six-week live online course for children aged 8–12, one session a week, capped at ten students. They learn how printers work, design their own object in Shapr3D, prepare it in PrusaSlicer, then watch us print it on our machines — and we ship the finished piece to them. No printer or paid software needed at home. Full curriculum and booking →
Can I get a part that no longer exists?
Often, yes. Send us the broken original or detailed photos with measurements and we'll rebuild it digitally, then print a PLA replacement. Best for parts that aren't load-bearing and don't get hot — tell us how the part is used and we'll be straight with you about whether PLA will hold up.
Do you deliver, and where?
We deliver within Tamil Nadu only. Prints go out with tracked, protective packaging to any address in the state. We're not shipping outside Tamil Nadu at the moment — if you're elsewhere, send us your enquiry anyway and we'll tell you honestly whether we can help.

Local pickup is welcome, and if you're nearby you're also welcome to come and watch your part being printed.

How it works

They design it here. It arrives at your door.

The hardest part of teaching 3D printing online is that most families don't own a printer. So we removed that problem entirely — our machines do the printing, and the finished piece comes to you.

STEP 01

Join the live session

A video link each week. Your child joins from a laptop at home — no equipment beyond that, and a parent is welcome to sit in.

STEP 02

Design something real

Over the first weeks they learn the software and build their own object — a nameplate, a phone stand, something entirely their own idea.

STEP 03

We print it live

We put their file on a real printer and they watch it build, layer by layer, and learn to spot what goes wrong when it does.

STEP 04

It arrives in the post

We clean the print up, pack it and post it — included in the course fee, nothing extra to pay. We deliver within Tamil Nadu. A week or so after they designed it, they're holding it.

Curriculum

Six weeks, start to finish

Every week builds on the last. By week six they've taken an idea in their head all the way to a physical object in their hand — and understood every step along the way.

Week 01

Introduction to 3D printing

How printers actually build objects layer by layer. The basics of materials — starting with PLA plastic, the one we use for everything. We'll show them our own printer fleet running as live examples, and cover the safety basics of working around a machine with a hot end.

How printers workPLA basicsLive printer tourSafety
Week 02

Introduction to design software

We teach in Shapr3D — proper CAD software, but built to be direct and hands-on rather than intimidating. It is genuinely lovely to draw in on an iPad with a pencil. They'll learn to work with basic shapes, then the two moves that unlock everything else: combining shapes together and subtracting one from another.

Shapr3DBasic shapesCombine & subtract
Week 03

Design your own part

The week it becomes theirs. Each student designs something simple and personal from start to finish — a nameplate, a phone stand, a small container. Whatever they pick, they take it all the way to a finished design.

Own projectStart to finish
Week 04

From design to print-ready file

Exporting the design as a printable file, then an introduction to slicing software — PrusaSlicer, the same tool we use professionally. They'll learn what infill density, supports and layer height actually do, and why each one changes how the finished object turns out.

ExportingPrusaSlicerInfill · supports · layers
Week 05

Printing and troubleshooting

Each student's design gets printed, and they watch it happen. Just as importantly, they learn to recognise the things that go wrong — warping, stringing, poor bed adhesion — and what causes each one. Knowing why a print failed is most of the skill.

Week 06

Finishing and wrap-up

Post-processing — sanding, cleaning up supports, making a print look finished rather than just made. Then a show-and-tell where everyone presents the thing they designed, and a certificate to mark the end of the course.

What you'll need at home

An iPad, Mac or PC

Shapr3D runs on iPad, Mac and Windows. An iPad with an Apple Pencil is the nicest way to draw, but a laptop and a mouse work perfectly well. Chromebooks aren't supported.

A steady connection

Enough to hold a video call and run a browser design tool at the same time. Headphones help, but aren't essential.

Curiosity. That's it.

No prior experience with design software, 3D printing or coding. We start from "how does this machine even work" and build from there.

Questions

Course questions parents ask

Does my child need a 3D printer?
No — that's the whole point of how we've set this up. They design on their own iPad or computer, and the printing happens on our machines. We run their file, they watch it build during the session, and the finished piece is posted to your address.
Is the printing included, or is that extra?
Included. The course fee covers all six live sessions and one printed model per child — printed on our machines, cleaned up, and posted to you. There is nothing extra to pay to get the finished object in their hands.

The one limit is size: the included print should be no bigger than about a coffee mug, which is comfortably enough for everything we design on this course. If your child wants something larger, or a second copy, or the piece painted, we'll quote that separately as a normal print job. And if a print fails on our side, we reprint it at our cost — that's never yours to worry about.
Where do you deliver?
Within Tamil Nadu only, at the moment. The course itself is online, so a child anywhere could take part — but the printed model at the end has to reach a Tamil Nadu address. If you're outside the state and still interested, get in touch and we'll be straight with you about what we can and can't do.
Is my child old enough — or too old?
The course is built for 8 to 12. Younger than eight and the design software gets frustrating rather than fun; older than twelve and they'll want to move faster than the group. If your child is close to either edge, message us and we'll be honest about whether it's the right fit.
What software do we need, and does it cost anything?
Shapr3D for designing and PrusaSlicer for preparing the print. PrusaSlicer is completely free. Shapr3D has a free tier that covers everything we do on this course — you won't need to pay for anything to take part. It runs on iPad, Mac and Windows; there's no browser version, so a Chromebook won't work.
Do they keep what they design?
Yes, both the printed object and the design file. The physical print is shipped to you, and the design stays in their own Shapr3D account so they can keep editing it, reprint it later, or build on it.
What if we miss a week?
Tell us and we'll catch your child up before the next session so they're not lost. Each week does build on the one before, so we'd rather spend fifteen minutes getting them back on track than have them quietly fall behind.
Does a parent need to sit in?
You're very welcome to, and with younger children some parents like to for the first session or two. It isn't required — we run the session so that an eight-year-old can follow it on their own.
When does the next course start?
Send us your details through the form below and we'll come straight back with the next start date, the session time and everything else you need to know. Places are capped at ten, so we allocate them in the order enquiries come in.
